Clients at the Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge were treated to a special sight recently when millions of baitfish attempted to take refuge around the boat they were fishing from, while northern bluefin tuna, spanish mackerel, sharks and even a pilot whale ripped into them. One enterprising angler even free-netted a tuna with the landing net!.
Shaun Taylor, a Professional Fishing Guide at the Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge captured this amazing footage on his Go-Pro HD Headcam.
This experience capped off a tremendous week of fishing at the lodge, with anglers racking up cricket score catches on barra and bluewater species. Triple hook-ups were the norm on queenfish and GTs, while Spanish mackerel, northern buefin tuna, golden snapper, and coral trout plus a myriad of assorted reefies kept anglers busy. On the barra front, one lucky angler was wrapped to capture a 109 cm barra in shallow water, getting his name on the “Metre Club”plaque at the Lodge and earning bragging rights over his mates who landed 99cm and 93cm fish the same day.
