With Peter Morse – Australia’s foremost saltwater fly fisherman
Date: 10-17 December 2009

Venue: The multi-award-winning Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge
The Fly Fishing: This remote and exclusive region has rarely been fished by fly fishermen. The barra and inshore bluewater fishing with conventional tackle is first rate and at times exceptional. Land-based beach and flats fishing is relatively unknown and you may very well be the first person to explore these untouched areas. Giant herring, the fly fisherman’s dream, is often encounterd, and a Permit was landed at the mouth of the Liverpool River in 2008 by one of our clients on minnow lure!!!
Fly fishing will be two to a boat guided for barra, estuary species and bluewater species, as well as sight casting off white, sandy beaches, and along the banks of secluded tropical billabongs for barra and saratoga.
Workshops: Peter Morse will be conducting fly-tying workshops at night, as well as fly-fishing tactical discussions for local species. Everyone will get a chance to fish with Peter and learn from his vast experience and enormous skill.
The Species:
Barramundi: This is absolute peak barramundi fishing time with cricket-score catches the norm.
Plus: Queenfish, GTs, Golden Trevally, Tea Leaf Trevally, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Threadfin & Blue Salmon, Black Jewfish, mangrove jack, golden snapper (fingermark), coral trout, barracuda.
Limited spaces available.
A magnificent 9-weight Sage fly rod will be awarded to the angler who makes the most-meritorious catch. Prize donated by JM Gillies.
